“His name is Dexter and he is 3 years old and weighs 300 lbs. In dolphin age I think that is equivalent to about 6 or 7. I tried to lift him up out of the water and after I went back to my spot with the others, he left where he was supposed to be and came and found me and thumped me on the leg with his nose. They are very playful. I feel so good being with them – so vital and alive and at peace. Dolphins have ʽ3 dimensional empathyʼ – they can use sonar to assess the nervous system of our bodies and know if we are afraid or anger by listening to our three-dimensional bodies like an MRI scan.
Claudia and I enjoyed our day immensely and snorkeled in the lagoon with the beautiful fish and rays. I was so water-logged at the end of the day that even after blowing my nose repeatedly, when I tilted my head to the left side water ran down out of my sinus cavities like a faucet and then when I tilted to the right, the same thing. Iʼve never experienced that before.”
Iʼm back at work and preparing a workshop for E.R. physicians and nurses at a hospital in California on ptsd and workplace stress and behaviors that result from fatigue and the numbing that comes from constant stress. Anger and some negative staff relations. When I get the slides ready I will send to you Dimitrios for your lookover. I am interested to see if you think it is on target. Some of the physicians are reading the paper from HumanHealthCare “Physician Heal Thyself!”

Earthen Treasures
Leaping out from the great ocean of spirit
Leviathans of divine longing dive back again
into the depths, pregnant
with Jonahs of unlived truth—
asleep, afraid, adrift in resistance
to the churning maw of birth obedient to death
awaiting a shamanic bridge between heaven and earth
capable of conveying the divine touch as shyly
as resurrection on the third day
Ah!
Rejoicing in the Uncreated Light of Easter morning,
Now, like Mary Magdalenes eager to embrace
the Lord and Giver of Life…
But not yet
or only for a moment, for all is not finished.
Ascending into heaven,
surely cannot endure
until the last captive is released
and all those oppressed are set at liberty.
For breath that is drawn
compels release.
What is received is given away
in a circle unbroken.
Now
having risen from the grave
love invites us freely to dive again
into the deep black pain of existence
offering our selves as Eucharistic seeds for the fate of the world.
No greater deed than this,
No greater love.
Unless a seed perishes…
Yet not too early
for pearls are not for trampling under foot
nor tender love for an embrace that renders captive.
Yet not too late,
lest a seed remain buried
in earth inert
unfruitful.
The Friend knows:
Freedom is Loveʼs wound
Love is freedomʼs burden
Each is born from the impossible embrace
of withholding
what is necessary
to give everything:
Spirit and dust—
Who can tell the difference between
Lover and Beloved?
And yet for exactly this
the Lamb of God is given.
What then shall we do,
who are assumed in consuming the One
slain from the foundation of the world?
Except a truth be lived, it cannot be known.

(μτφ.

Τέλεια ιδέα, αλλά θα δουλέψει αυτό με το πέρασμα του χρόνου;
